Well.. I didn’t go. Turned out to be a good thing since it started pouring rain ^^’
So I turned in relatively early and just had a fiber bar thingie I’d packed along. Then woke up pretty early.. I think. Jeff’s alarm went off at 7 so we both woke up to that, but it was okay since it at least let me have enough time to pop online and talk to a few peoplez before we left at 9:30.. which was later pushed back to 10.
Then off we went~ This was the one optional trip of the program.. and the one that everyone wanted to go on lol. Sony, Panasonic and Nintendo. Rode the train down to Shimbari station about 20 mins away and were dumped out into an underground mall. Interesting.. We got turned around a bit, but made it to the right line from there. Everyone got an 800yen day pass, good for the entire line that day. Turns out that the place we’re going is an island with museums, malls, exhibits and even a 100story (I think?) ferris wheel! =O This ish gonna rawk!
First up we rode the monorail just like a Disney attraction thing around the island and saw all
Then got off the train right next to the Giant Saw =O!? Weird but awesome too! Lol
We were first taken to Panasonic, where Amoroso wanted a group shot before letting us go out and do our own thang. They had a little Nintendo demo area.. like something you’d find in a Target or something.. just with chairs and more consoles. Otherwise nothing special there :\ They had this huge wall screen thing where they were showing off the ‘living wall’ features of the future. Like, when you reach out to a photo on the screen, you can manipulate it and all kinds of other groovy things you can do :3
Then there was a science exhibit place with all kinds of weird little experiments like… um.. well science stuff XD I didn’t take any pictures of it all.
After that we had already started breaking up into pieces, about half of us headed to the Modern Science musuem. On the way, we saw promos for thier exibit of the month, "The Science of Haunted House Fear" Oh hellz yah!
Closed on Tuesdays. FFFFFFFf-!
So we grumbled about that and then headed off to THE GREATEST THING ON THE ISLAND.
A full 1-to-1 scale model of a Gundam. A freaking Gundam! =O!!!
We didn’t think it would be completed because some thing Josh read on the net about it being pushed back a month. But there it was! And of course we all got pictures with it.
As did most of the rest of the park lol
I posted all the images up on my facebook.
So after that we started walking to the Sony thing to go blow apart Amoroso's constant 'Playstation 4' talk. On the way, I got a Dr. Pepper, and it was a HARDCORE can! >=0! And I threw this up just for Sarah XD
Even if it was a bit smaller than the gundam, it could still be a good fight...
Now then.. on to the Sony place! Turns out it was just a tiny showcase area that just showed off things you can buy. Ffffff-!
Well.. that was a bust.
Across the stree was the Segapolix, like the world's largest arcade of interactive ride/games.
That costs 500 to get inside. :\ And every ride costs between 300 and 1000 to ride, but you can get an all day pass for 3500. Which I would've done.. had we started the day there. But it wasn't worth it as is.
Instead a few of us went to CondomNation, full of novilty condoms and such XD And Josh, the same guy that bought a hand-gina, bought a pikachu condom. Glad I'm not the only one that was tempted to XD
So then we went off into the depths of a shops selling all manner of stuff. From kids clothes, to junk food, to CareBears stuff, to vintage toys, to live beetles!
We didn't really buy anything... but gum :3
Got split up from the group yet again so now it was just the two of us. Josh called the other group to meet up with them by the ferris wheel. So we go walking to that. Call again when we get there and he says they're in the arcade by the wheel. We go in the arcade and look for them. No luck. Call them, and 'we're on the left' Not there. Again. 'over by the photobooths' Still not there. Finally we give up and ask what else is around them. 'Starbucks' ....Whut? There's no starbucks here! Turns out that they were at a wholey diffrent arcade. So we met up with them and I came back home with Jeff.
Once home, we got some cheese burgers from McDonalds... and I STILL didn't go see the Ramen folks :(
Now I'm feeling really bad.. I mean.. If I go now, it'll be just the one time and 'oh yeah, i meant to come here before but was too busy' but at the same time, if I don't go, I'll be kicking myself for a long, long time D:
So!
The plan for today: Go to Akihabara and buy two PSP games and see if I can't find one last souvinere on my list. Go to the bathhouse over by the mall. Go see my Ramen friends. Pack.
Sounds good?
....God I hope so....
